We are Marshall
After a long long time, I finally get a movie moved me again. “We are Marshall” tells us a real story about the rugby team of Marshall University. It happened in 1970, after losing a game; the whole team went towards their hometown by air. At this moment, the disaster befell on them. The airplane crashed. The town where the university locates in was hurt deeply. Then with the effort of the president of Marshall University, the new football coach, the former team member Ruffin and others, the football program recovered and the town recovered from the mourning. There some details which really moved me. Here are two, one is the dialogue between Jack and his assistant coach on the occasion when they lose the first game, another is the speech Jack gave before their first home game in front of the grave of their former teammates. These words not only give people courage but also touch the softest part of people’s heart.I like movies, and there are wide variety of movies in the world. What is my favorite is those show us the shining humanity and those move us by the pure human sentiment, such as the brotherly love in “Rainman”, the social justice in “Infernal Affairs”, the true love in “Love actually”, the great encouragement in “We are Marshall” and so on. “From the ashes, we rose”, Jack said; “From the movies, we move forwards”, I say.
