We are Marshall

After a long long time, I finally get a movie moved me again. “We are Marshall” tells us a real story about the rugby team of Marshall University. It happened in 1970, after losing a game; the whole team went towards their hometown by air. At this moment, the disaster befell on them. The airplane crashed. The town where the university locates in was hurt deeply. Then with the effort of the president of Marshall University, the new football coach, the former team member Ruffin and others, the football program recovered and the town recovered from the mourning. There some details which really moved me. Here are two, one is the dialogue between Jack and his assistant coach on the occasion when they lose the first game, another is the speech Jack gave before their first home game in front of the grave of their former teammates. These words not only give people courage but also touch the softest part of people’s heart.I like movies, and there are wide variety of movies in the world. What is my favorite is those show us the shining humanity and those move us by the pure human sentiment, such as the brotherly love in “Rainman”, the social justice in “Infernal Affairs”, the true love in “Love actually”, the great encouragement in “We are Marshall” and so on. “From the ashes, we rose”, Jack said; “From the movies, we move forwards”, I say.

The negative problem caused by climate change
In recent years, global warming in China is becoming more and moreserious and the words 'global warming' always appear on the news. Why do people begin to focus on these phenomena and get closer to a consensus that something must be done to reverse the effects of global warming? The answer is obvious: it has brought a huge damage to human beings. Many areas like Venezia and Singapore are facing danger of being flooded because the sea level rises from global warming. The balance of ecosystem between human and nature got destroyed seriously. It has led many animals and plants to die out because of the changing of habitat. Even we humans are suffering from the floods and droughts much more frequently than before.

Global warming is a major problem that can be improved in three ways by engineering. Firstly, the government of China should limit the effluence of greenhouse gas more strictly. As a developing country, China has to set up many factories, which produce lots of poisonous gas like Sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide everyday. They bring a huge damage to the ozonosphere. David Perlman states "human industrial activity is largely responsible for global warming" (San Francisco Chronicle. February 19, 2005).

Secondly, the Chinese government should limit the numbers of private cars. With the development of economy, many people in China begin to own private cars. The burning of fuel can produce a lot of carbon dioxide, which is the main greenhouse gas that causes global warming. "Based on current growth rates, China's carbon emissions will equal today's entire global output by 2030," warned Ning Zeng (Science.February 8,2008). Data from Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC)also shows that the carbon dioxide will cause an increase of 1.4-5.6 oC in 2100 compared with 1990.

Third, China should enact some laws to limit the logging of forests and pollution to the sea. It's known that the forest and sea are main factories to filter the nature air. The sea can absorb 75% of carbon dioxide and trees can absorb 5% every year. However, with the rapid increase of population, lots of forests are being cut to leave more room for people to live. The sea also got polluted by living rubbish and toxic waste. If nothing is done to stop this, we will destroy our lives by ourselves.

In past few years, the government of China always did "First pollute then treat" to develop the economy. The effect is quite obvious. The GDP of China increased very fast in these years. Does it mean that the level of people's life increase at the same time? The answer seems to be 'NO'. China is facing more and more environmental problems than before. Industrial pollution, dust storms, exhaust gas of cars are filled in our life. So it's time for us to pay attention to the environmental problems. If we have destroyed nature, it's our duty to rejuvenate it.

The difference between zerowaste and landfilling

As we know, human beings are producing lots of rubbish everyday, which is quite difficult to handle with. Some countries choose landfilling, some choose the other disposal scheme called zero waste, which would abolish and reduce dramatically the need for incinerators. Here, lets compare these two kinds of systems.
For landfilling, it's quite cheap and easy. Workers should only dig a deep hole and fill it with rubbish, then everything is done. However, there are many negative aspects to do this .Landingfilling will occupy lots of lands. For most rubbish, it will take about 10 years to disappear. Some will take even longer time. What's more, lots of rubbish like batteries are poisonious. They can pollurte the earth and water.
In contrast, zero waste can bring much more profite. It won't cause any pollution because everything is going to be reused and recycled. At the same time, people can get profit from turning waste into an asset. However, zero waste is not an easy way to go. It needs the government to set up lots of factories for hanaling waste. New high-technology are required to reuse or recycle waste. All of these needs a huge revenue.
So, in my opinion, for China, landfill is still the way we should use. The reason is that China is a developing country. The government cannot pay too much to handle daily waste. It's better to choose an easy and cheap way to do so.

First draft

What's the negative problem caused by climate change
In recent years, global warming in China is becoming more and more serious and the words ‘global warming’ always appears on the news. Why do people begin to focus on these phenomena and get closer to a consensus that something must be done to reverse the effects of global warming? The answer is obvious: it has brought a huge damage to human beings. Many countries like Venezia and Singapore are facing danger of being flooded because the sea level rises from global warming. Secondly, the Chinese government should limit the quantity of private cars. As the developing of economy, many people begin to own private cars. The burning of fuel can release a lot of carbon dioxide which is the main greenhouse gas that cause global warming. “Based on current growth rates, China's carbon emissions will equal today's entire global output by 2030”, warn Ning Zeng and colleagues in science. Third, enact some law to limit the logging of forest and pollution to the sea. It’s known that the forest and sea are main ‘factories’ to filter the nature air. New week starts

As new week starts, the four weeks' holidays came to the end. This Chinese New Year didn't inpress me too much. I didn't go to China Town, didn't have a good meal and didn't even finish my homework. It's totally different from the Spring Festival when I was in China.
In my hometown, all the people will go back home to celebrate Chinese New Year. At this day, adults always buy many delicious food. There is a big meal at midnight and dumplings are the staple food. Most of us won't sleep at that night and it's called "Guo Nian". When I was young, we child can even play flamework. The flame is quite beautiful. All of us will feel warm by staying with our relatives in the cold winter.
Now everything has changed. I couldn't even see snow here in Singapore. Hope I can get used to the life here soon and have a good new year.

The main reasons that lead to the increase of temperature in Northeast of China?

The temperature in Northeast of China has been increased continually in the recrnt years. This situation is quite obvious in winter. In my hometown, there would be lots of snow during Chinese New Year before. But now, the snow appears less and less .So what's the reason that leads to this problem? In my opinion, there are three:
Firstly,to develop economic ,the government has to set up more and more factories. It will bring a huge damage to the environment. The green house effect come out just after the rapidlly developing of industry.
Secondly, as the developing of economic, people began to enjoy their life. The number of private cars has increased a lot, about 23.7% every year according to statistics released by the State Statistics Bureau(SSB) . As we know, cars can produce lots of green house gas, especially the carbon dioxide, whose quantity is the biggest among green house gas.
Third, the area of the forest has shrinked a lot. In Northeast of China, there is a famous forest called "DaXingAnLing".It's one of the most important forest to produce wood. However, datas from SSB show that its area has shrinked 26.7% in the past 40 years. Trees can absorb 5% of carbon dioxide every year.
The green house effect has brought lots of trouble to human beings, riaing of sea level, changing of climate and so on. It's time for the government to pay attention to this problem, or it will be too late for human beings.
